Here We Go Again: The Story of RIM

News has gone around that RIM will be cutting 2,000 from it’s workforce and reshuffling the executive branch but won’t touch the co-CEO’s at the very top. To say this is concerning is a drastic understatement mainly because cutting a chunk of your workforce won’t help you where it’s needed most: innovation. RIM continues to see its market share slashed by innovative competitors who are only going to eat more their share as they continue to drag their feet. And if the stories about RIM making a competitor to the Apple TV, then they’ve given investors, competitors, and consumers a clear view that they simply lack the focus to really dig themselves out of the deepening hole they’ve created.
